General Guidelines

The Collegian welcomes submissions of previously unpublished poems, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Multiple submissions are acceptable as long as each piece reflects the current theme.  Please keep in mind that fiction and nonfiction submissions should be under 1,500 words. If you are interested in publishing a longer piece, contact us about producing a serial.

We publish mainly short stories and poetry, but we are always eager to discover and publish alternative features such as creative essays, book reviews, or screenplays.

While The Collegian is a literary magazine, we do publish graphic artwork. We accept photography, drawings, paintings, and comics, among other artwork.

How to Submit

Send all written submissions as word documents to by the posted deadline.  Submissions after the deadline cannot be accepted for the current issue. Additionally, please adhere to standard manuscript format.  All photographs and graphic artwork should be sent as high quality JPEG files to
